Kari Rueslåtten is a Norwegian singer. Her music takes inspiration from Norwegian and Celtic folk music, and can be described as melancholic folk with a dark–edged atmosphere. She has released six studio albums; Spindelsinn (1997), Mesmerized (1998), Pilot (2001), Other people’s stories (2004), Time to Tell (2014) and To The North (2015). Kari Rueslåtten was one of the founder members of the progressive doom metal band The 3rd and the Mortal. In the 90s the band was a source of inspiration for many other bands worldwide, among them Nightwish and The Gathering. She is now also a member of The Sirens, a group formed from her musical collaboration with Anneke van Giersbergen (ex The Gathering) and Liv Kristine (ex Theatre of Tragedy).
