Chicago guitar player
Ladell McLin lays down his electric blues in the style
Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Buddy Guy, and
Jimi Hendrix.
McLin, who used to curl up inside his father's bass drum for naps, began playing at the age of 12. He took gigs around town with his brother/drummer Andre Cotton, appearing at the Chicago Blues Festival and the Checkerboard Lounge. He has since backed everyone from
Koko Taylor to
Johnny "Guitar" Watson, and appeared on numerous recordings, including
James Blood Ulmer's Grammy-nominated Memphis Blood: The Sun Sessions. ~ James Christopher Monger
