Lincoln Chase is best-known for writing "Jim Dandy" and "Jim Dandy Got Married" for
Lavern Baker and teaming with his wife,
Shirley Ellis, in the '60s to pen a string of entertaining novelty tunes.

Chase numbers included "The Nitty Gritty," "The Name Game," and "The Clapping Song," with "Nitty Gritty" and "Name Game" both being Top Ten R&B hits, and "Name Game" crossing over into the Top Ten on the pop charts as well.
Chase doubled as
