Chicago rapper and Boochie Gang founder
Lud Foe complements his aggressive lyrics with dreamy and druggy productions. Bursting onto the scene in 2015, he made his name with a series of street hits and mixtapes before releasing his studio full-length Guns Up Funds Up in 2020.
Born William Akins,
Lud Foe came up in 2015 with a series of singles and mixtapes plus a co-sign from
Lil Durk. The Bxnkroll-produced 2015 cut "187" was his first big track and was followed in 2016 by two volumes of the Welcome 2 Chiraq series and the solo mixtape
No Hooks. Included on the tape was the single "Suicide." "Hublot" landed that same year, along with "Cuttin' Up," which added
Lil Durk to its remix. After surviving a nearly fatal car accident in March 2017,
Lud Foe released the mixtapes
Get Well Foe and
No Hooks II, which included tracks recorded while his mouth was wired shut. 2018's Boochie Gang featured appearances by
Juicy J,
G Herbo, and
Mozzy. After releasing a few singles,
Lud Foe's full-length Guns Up Funds Up arrived in 2020, with guest verses by
Lil Uzi Vert,
Lil Durk, and
YBN Nahmir. ~ David Jeffries
