Luis Enríquez Bacalov is an Argentine-born Italian composer. Together with Ennio Morricone, Bacalov is considered as one of the pioneers of the Spaghetti Western scores (Django, His Name Was King, The Grand Duel, The Man Called Noon). Bacalov has been nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Original Score, achieving the award in 1996 for Il Postino (The Postman). Bacalov has composed significant works for chorus and orchestra. Currently, he is the artistic director of the “Orchestra Della Magna Grecia” in Taranto, Italy. Director and actor Quentin Tarantino included several Bacalov Western’s Theme into his movie, like the Django Unchained’s main theme taken from the original soundtrack of Django (1968) written and composed by Luis Bacalov sung by Rocky Roberts , “His Name is King” (Django Unchained) taken from the 1971 Spaghetti Western movie with the voice of Edda Dell’Orso or “Summertime Killer – Ricatto alla Mala” for Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 2
