MALIKA listened to all types of music growing up, but was particularly influenced by strong 90’s female R&B and Pop acts such as Brandy, Mary J Blige, Destinys Child, Spice Girls, Pink & Christina Aguilera to name a few. After graduating from London Metropolitan University, Malika began working with artists such as, Tinie Tempah, Basement Jaxx, and in 2009 had huge success with Crazy Cousinz under the pseudonym Meleka. She continued collaborating as Meleka writing with Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Riton, Wiley & Rita Ora, until 2016 when she relaunched her singing career under her real name MALIKA. Since relaunching, MALIKA has written and featured on a songs ‘Falling’ with Snakehips, ‘Hungry Eyes’ with Sam Feldt, ‘Got You’ with Michael Calfan and most recently ‘Cheatin’ & ‘Flowers’ alongside Nathan Dawe & Jaykae, with ‘Flowers’ reaching no.34 in the UK top 40 Charts. Malika’s debut EP ‘Songs About C’ enabled her to tour the UK & Europe performing at Festivals, but in early 2019 she released ‘Stranger Things’ the first single off of her upcoming sophomore EP entitles ‘Tension’ follow your single ‘Better As Friends’ was featured on 2020’s Love Island UK. ‘Tension’ is due for release later this year.
