Georgia's Michael Tolcher has had grand aspirations from the onset of his career. He was well on his way to becoming an Olympic athlete when an injury got him off of the track for good. Not to be daunted by this, Tolcher began focusing his prodigious energies on music and eventually began writing songs and playing guitar. Tolcher's folky, powerful debut album I Am was recorded and released in 2004.
