Dairio Peters, formerly known as D-Money, has reemerged on the music scene as Mr. 100. The name change stemmed from a single he released entitled, “Mr. 100” where he was transparent with his fan base by being completely honest about his humble beginnings and telling his story. The honesty in the song made him realize that it is important to always be honest, in other words, 100%. The stage name “Mr.100” seemed most appropriate and has stuck with the rapper ever since.
Mr.100 is from Winder, Ga, a small town that is a little less than an hour from
Atlanta, Ga. Growing up as the oldest of 4 in a single parent household,
he had to grow up fast and adapt to his surroundings. It was at the age of 14 where he discovered that he and his little brother, had a musical talent and they both began to pursue music. 100 and his little brother became the ultimate dynamic duo, he would make the beats and his brother would rap over them. Mr. 100 noticed that he could flow and his writing skills were advanced so he began rapping as well.
Mr.
100 released his first project entitled “Go Hard” in 2010. The mixtape achieved local success in which he was able to build relationships with promoters and began hosting parties at a popular club in Gwinnett County known as Skyy Lounge. He also built a relationship with another popular Gwinnett County nightclub Barnacles Gwinnett, where he would oversee music. The success of both clubs was overwhelming and Mr. 100 put music aside to hosts club events full time. Though the fire was still in him, he just needed inspiration to ignite the flame.
After
being released after serving 1 year at a correctional facility, Mr. 100 was
approached by his then 9 year old son about music. 100 says his son looking up
to him for music was enough to get him going again. He then formed the label Team 100 Music Group where he would record as a solo artist and producer aswell as recruit a team of talented musicians and others passionate about music in order to produce quality music that people all over would love.
He compares his style music style to T.I and Big K.R.I.T, but he brings his own flavor and real life experiences to his tracks as well. He is also inspired by Puff Daddy’s and hopes to one day become a mogul like him. Mr. 100’s goal for 2016 and 2017 is to network and brand his company to introduce the world to him and his fellow label mates. A mixtape is slated to be released in 2017. Until an official project is released, he and label mates will release a variety of songs and videos. Mr. 100 has big plans to take the music industry by storm and his strategy…..to just take one day at a time. The first single he will be dropping is entitled, “OTW” ft label mate Bone. The track is produced by Mr. 100 himself. The up-tempo track let’s listeners know, you may not see anything now, but you know he’s coming!
