Octave Minds is a self-termed "new age electronic romance" duo that consists of pianist/composer Gonzales (aka Chilly Gonzales, born Jason Beck) and producer Alexander Ridha (aka Boys Noize). Before they conceived the project, Ridha remixed Gonzales' "Working Together" (2008), and Gonzales released "I Am Europe" (2010) on Ridha's Boysnoize label. In 2014, over the course of two months, the musicians recorded an album together as Octave Minds. That July, they made one of their songs -- the melodic, ambient track "In Silence" -- available for streaming and as a free download, as a preview for the full-length. That parent album was scheduled to be released two months later. ~ Andy Kellman
