Announcing his musical style as ‘Cyberdeath’, Overflash is the creation of Swedish-born ‘musical deviant’ Devo. Employing high-tech midi-computer technology in addition to his own screaming vocals, Overflash’s musical output encompasses everything from baroque to techno and death metal. Calling on guitars, percussion instruments, strings, vocoder voice treatments and a wide variety of samples, his debut album was released on MNW Records in 1994 - though Overflash had originally been founded in 1986. Despite its eclecticism, Threshold To Reality was criticized for the artist’s over-employment of pulp cyberpunk imagery that lacked lyrical dexterity.
