Paul Dolden has given solo concerts with violin, guitar, and cello with tape and improvisation. He works with up to 400 tracks or parts occurring simultaneously (70-80 parts are traditional Western instruments and the rest are gamelan, hand percussion, drum kits, electric guitar, and voice). He is the winner of 18 Canadian and international awards for composition, including Canada's Jean A. Chalmers Award for L'ivresse de la vitesse.
