Yonkers born and bred PJay Johnson is unapologetically himself. The singer/songwriter is not afraid of speaking his mind, either in song or during a face to face conversation. An old soul with a young vibe, PJay grew up a lover of all things music. He began as a young drummer at church and decided he wanted to be a frontman, so he taught himself how to sing. PJay was inspired by artists such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Aerosmith and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He continued honing his skills as a singer and developed a songwriting style much his own: lyrics bold and direct, conversational and real accompanied by alluring melodies and unique harmonies. His hometown of Yonkers has supported PJay for years, but 2016 is the year he introduces himself to the rest of the world. With his first single Sticks & Stones making waves in the R&B scene, PJay Johnson opens up even more in a raw compilation of songs that make up his debut EP “Insignificant Other”.
