While other adherents to the New York No Wave sound went on to enjoy the adulation of their rabid cult followings, Ritual Tension remain a very noisy secret. Led by the deep monotone vocals of Ivan Nahem and the sloping, droning guitars of Andre Nahem, the outfit's songs are slow-to-build excursions that vary from lithium-sedate to valium-heavy. Worthwhile listens include an almost unrecognizable cover of the very non-Noise Rock Eagles song "Hotel California."
