Sarah Simmons is best known for competing on the 2013 season of NBC's The Voice vocal competition. A native of Birmingham, Alabama,
Simmons grew up singing and by age 13 was touring the country with a musical theater group. When she was 15,
Simmons' father gave her a guitar and she began writing and performing her own music. At age 20,
Simmons began studying music at the Christian-based Visible Music College in Memphis, Tennessee -- for a degree she put on hold to appear on The Voice. While competing on The Voice,
Simmons was coached by
Maroon 5's
