Serushio is a Portuguese band formed in 2009 by Sergio Silva and Jose Vieira who joined the band in 2011. The name Serushio came from Sergio's interaction with the Japanese culture and it is the Japanese translation of the Portuguese given name Sergio. For the first couple of years, Serushio was Sergio's solo project who after completing his musical studies at Berklee College (Boston), returned to his hometown of Oporto and became involved in the local musical scene. In 2010 Serushio participated in the event Musica Na Rua and played at the town’s festival: Porto Sounds. Photographer Egidio Santos commented: "Serushio is a young singer with an uncommonly good voice and excellent songs, too good for the rushed clients of the Metro." Serushio's debut EP Sights & Scenes was released in 2011 and a series of local shows followed. In 2013 they release their second recorded work “Life on Extended Play” and were featured on Portuguese television, radio and written media. The summer ended on a high note with a spot on Porto's music festival: Noites Ritual. I'm Not Lost ...Just Don't Want To Be Found was released in 2014, the same year in which Serushio played at the Canadian Music Week (Toronto). In 2015 they extensively toured Portugal, with over 30 concerts and a notorious passage through Paredes de Coura. “The rock blues duo from Porto was one of the biggest surprises of the festival with a concert that despite the heavy rain got the audience euphoric.” (Thresholdmagazine) The dynamic duo composed and recorded their latest album in 2016 (Groove Lee). The album was produced once more by the renown Zé Nando Pimenta and counts with guest appearances of renowned Portuguese musicians: Fred, Diogo Ribeiro, Ricardo Riquiet e Mariana Norton. After a small European tour (France, Spain) at the end of 2016, the “Groove Lee” tour headed out in trio formation as drummers Fred or Edys Silva took the new spot. First stop of the tour was Westway Lab 2017 (Guimarães) then: Croka’s Rock, Vodafone Paredes de Coura and many other festival and venues throughout Portugal. New single “Halo” was released December 15h 2017 and is one the 12 new songs that will compose the new album to be recorded in 2018. Serushio played two shows at the 2018 Eurosonic festival in Holland (17th Huize Maas, 18th Vrijdag).
