Simon Poole is an award winning composer and sound designer from London. Born into a musical family in the 70s, he spent much of his early years roaming the corridors of the Royal Albert Hall and BBC Maida Vale studios whilst the likes of Pierre Boulez, Leonard Bernstein and Karl Heinz Stockhausen performed on the stages within. This submersion into such a diverse musical universe at such an early age was to play an important part in forming the eclectic and emotive sound found in Simon’s works. He spent his formative years studying French Horn and choral singing at Salisbury Cathedral, before progressing to life “the other side of the glass” at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, where his focus shifted to electroacoustic works, and using the recording studio as an instrument. As a specialist in audio for interactive media, his track record includes many award winning projects, including The Secret World (EA/Funcom), Age of Conan (Eidos/Funcom), and Dreamfall Chapters (Red Thread Games).
