Renowned musician, founder of the group Aqua Nebula Oscillator, David Sphaèr’os is, first and foremost, the creator of a total art work… Once engrossed in the fantastical universe of the creatures born of his hands, taken by the thousand eyes of the peacock feather, by the mirrors projecting shadows from the hereafter, the spirits lurking around bones “living” in his dwell, by the music of celestial spheres, one becomes oblivious of the chaos of “earthly life”.
I sometimes wonder if the XVIth century caves, in which David retreats until nightfall, are his home or that of the spirits personified in his sculptures sheltering and watching over him. Silent witnesses of the divine and monstrous apparition, they gaze with reverence and horror frozen in their fixed expressions. Others are the serene keepers of the wisdom forgotten by humanity. The strange entities seem to have survived the “sacred era”, emerging form the artist’s consciousness to abolish the present time. This microcosm of strangeness resonates with eternal truths long abandoned by society and draws us out of time to find again the essential meanings of our existence.
