As today’s Hip-Hop industry is filled with hardcore lyricists and soulful singers, Hip-Hop artist Steven G rides ahead of the wave by combining R&B melodies with his thought-provoking lyricism. Steven is a 25-year-old Crenshaw native quickly rising in status within Hip-Hop culture.

Amongst L.A.’s music scene, Steven’s popularity skyrocketed after winning popular Cali rapper Mozzy’s “Sleep Walkin Challenge.” Now, Steven is gearing up to release the third mixtape in his ShowGreat collection.

Heavy hitters in the music industry, such as Keyshia Cole, DJ Mustard and RJ, have recognized Steven’s talents. Steven has even went onto open concerts for Trina and Eric Bellinger. Inspired by the late Nipsey Hussle, Steven credits the influential rapper for motivating him to stray away from pure R&B and towards a mix of Hip-Hop. It couldn’t be a better time for L.A. to receive some uplifting music, as it mourns the loss of one of their own greats.

Steven leads his own wave in music through his ShowGreat movement. Steven describes the core mindset behind the movement when he says, “There’s only one way up. ‘ShowGreat’ means we’re going to show up, show out, show great everywhere we go.”

Although he likes making music for the ladies, Steven’s overall sound is determined by the beat he tackles. Free styling to a majority of his tracks, Steven fluctuates smoothly between Hip-Hop and R&B. Steven continues to advocate for and promote his “ShowGreat” lifestyle motto, as he states, “Me and my team, whatever it takes, that’s where we’re goin’.”

In 2016, Steven finally stepped inside of a studio and kicked off his rap career. In an unfortunate turn of events, a tragic incident empowered the rapper to maximize his musical talent.

After embarking on “The ClassCfed Tour” across Southern California with Compton rapper and fellow EMPIRE label-mate Aziah, Steven embarks on the next phase of his music career. Earlier this year, he signed with Artclub Intl. and a partnership with Empire. Now, Steven is preparing to unleash his latest project ShowGreat 3. The project features eight tracks from Steven channeling honest perspective: love, truth, and life.

"We worked our way up here. The music just feels different, it sounds different. It’s still ShowGreat, but it’s like a new and improved ShowGreat. It’s the most important one to me.”

Serving as his official stamp, ShowGreat continues to establish Steven’s independent brand. In addition to producing the lead single, 1500Hunnitboy also produced Steven’s highly anticipated follow up singles “Handcuff,” which is a smooth female-driven record, and “Blue Hunnads.” Steven teamed up with J-Classic, Micah Powell or Micahfonecheck, and Thai Beats for production collaborations as well.

ShowGreat 3 comes full surface following the release of the projects lead-off single “Super Villain.” The visual, directed by Top Shelf Junior, showcases Steven’s hometown as viewers are taken on a tour of Crenshaw; from Crenshaw high school to the streets of Slauson Ave. Steven is looking to be the new face of Crenshaw and music with his melodic style and street edge as his highly anticipated project establishes a new emerging wave for him.
