The winner of the 1959 Eurovision Song Contest, Dutch vocalist Teddy Scholten-van Swieteren was born on May 11, 1926. A star in her native land, she recorded and toured regularly, and was hostess of the popular music television program Zaterdagavondakkoorden. She also hosted the 1966 National Song Festival.
