The Hecks are a Chicago-based trio whose clanging, dissonant brand of experimental art-rock brings to mind
Sonic Youth and
Wire. Their recordings range from scorched noise-drone pieces to more jangly, hooky numbers. The group made their debut in 2013 with the "Trust and Order" single on Moniker Records, as well as a self-released four song EP. After several years of playing shows around Chicago and occasionally elsewhere in the Midwest,
the Hecks released their self-titled debut full-length on Trouble in Mind in 2016. ~ Paul Simpson
