THe pUnch, from Budapest, has been playing music with the new band member Vitéz Gergő (drums) for 3 years now. Jim, also know as Mogyorósi Tibor, is responsible for vocals and rythm guitar, while Dormán Miklós plays on bass and Veller László plays lead guitar. The band’s main sound of classcial British guitar music is also infused with elements of psychedelic rock and classic rock.
Their music has been influenced by bands from the 60s, 70s and 80s (i.e. Pink Floyd, Strawberry Alarmclock, Beatles, The Cure, The Smiths) and by contemporary bands, as well (i.e. Radiohead, Tame Impala, Pond, The Last Shadow Puppets).
The band’s first EP, Fragments, was announced in December of 2012 and is largely influenced by British guitar styles. After Fragments, they made their next EP, Personal Party, in March of 2014. The band calls this EP the beginning of their new sound, in which emotions and thoughts fly around between mathematically calculated frames.
Their current music can be characterized by effected guitar sounds and hypnotic pulsations, sometimes completed with rough, sonorous guitar riffs. The songs convey emotions and stories in a solid, determined structure.
The band has also played beside two famous foreign bands, opening for Crystal Fighters in 2013 on the A38 ship, and for TOY in 2014 at Dürer Kert.
The band’s memebers are now working on their first major album, which will be introduced by a single and a music video. The album will reflect the new style, which will be flowing, psychedelic journey.
