Homemade Lemonade in 2018, unveiled to the world the young Theo Lawrence, of Franco-Canadian origin and his group, The Hearts. A dense and hybrid first album, with a vivacious sepia. Piquant Sauce, his second album, without hearts, evokes regrets, possibilities and appearances. It is also a record of love, the things that are and are no longer, what is one and which is lost. And how to live, the soul oscillating between these two dimensions. That's what the songs are for. When Theo is asked to list the influences, he talks about Dough Sahm and his band in the 60s, Sir Douglas Quintet, in which he mixed soul, rock & roll, country, Tex Mex. Theo still talks about Marty Robbins, a shimmering countryman, Willie Nelson for songwriting, Balfa Brothers.
Theo Lawrence has just written a very beautiful album, with songs where the tribute never prevails on the desire to embrace a certain idea of sincerity. He is already thinking about his third album. We do not rebuild.
