Vocalist, keyboardist, and songwriter
Tommy Giles Rogers, Jr., aka
Thomas Giles, is a heavy metal and electronic-based artist best known for his work with the metalcore band
Between the Buried and Me. Born in Morganton, North Carolina in 1980,
Giles first came to prominence as a member of the progressive metal band
Prayer for Cleansing, with which he performed from 1999 to 2000. After that band broke up,
Giles formed
Between the Buried and Me, with whom he would go on to release a string of acclaimed albums including 2003's
The Silent Circus, 2009's
The Great Misdirect, 2012's
The Parallax II: Future Sequence, and 2018's
Automata. Away from
Between the Buried and Me,
Giles has also worked on several side projects including the electronic-based
Giles and the duo Jacob Rogers with musician
Jacob Troth. In 2011
Giles released his debut solo album,
Pulse, on Metal Blade. Three years later, he returned with his sophomore solo effort, Modern Noise, and in 2018 he inked a deal with Sumerian and issued solo outing number three,
