With their pop-rap appeal, R&B-styled choruses, and lyrics that utilized the street slang of hardcore rap, the Augusta, Georgia duo known as
TK-N-Cash were both solo artists when they met in 2007. A year later, they formed Banq Boi Entertainment and moved to nearby Atlanta, where an appearance at
Ludacris' Disturbing tha Peace Talent Search led to talks with various labels. In 2011, they joined BET's Scream Tour across America, while TK earned a co-writing credit on the
Trey Songz cut "What I Be On" featuring
Fabolous. Banq Boi released their single "Anthem" in 2013, the same year they signed a major-label deal with Columbia. The Sony-associated label released
TK-N-Cash's single "Mind Right" in 2014. "3 X in a Row" charted high on Rap Airplay beginning late the following year, and the duo were busy throughout 2016. They were featured on
Lil Wayne's "Ride That Wave" and released additional singles, including "Money on Money" with
Young Thug. During the latter half of the year, Ca$h released "VI.XIV" for his birthday (June 14), and TK released TK Kravitz, with appearances from
Ty Dolla $ign,
Dej Loaf, and
Blac Youngsta. ~ David Jeffries
