Tom Lüneburger was frontman of German rock act Myballoon before he struck out on his own for a solo career.Lüneburger was born in Potsdam just outside Berlin in January 1973. He grew up in the Black Forest surrounded by his father's record collection getting an early musical education from the LPs. After he moved back to the capital Lüneburger met Christoph Clemens and Benjamin Sommerfeld who were playing in a jazz act at the time. The three of them hit it off and started Myballoon, getting off to a strong start when they won a battle of the bands contest.Myballoon released the albums 'Perfect View' in 2000 and 'Between Here and Away' in 2003 but went their separate ways after their record label didn't renew their contract for a third album. Lüneburger went on to record as a solo artist. His first album, titled 'Good Intentions', came out in 2010 and was followed by the single 'We Are One', a duet with Silbermond's Stefanie Klob, in November 2011.The albums 'Lights' and 'Head Orchestra' followed in 2012 and 2015, with 2019 seeing the launch of his EP 'The Punch' and a tour celebrating the ten-year anniversary of his solo career. © ©Copyright Music Story 2020
