Stupar, a self-described vegan straight-edge anarchist, founded the group in 2014 after leaving German hardcore unit Wolf Down. Employing a lethal mix of breakdowns and blastbeats, the band, which also includes guitarists Ben Thomas and Ash Gray (ex-
Brutality Will Prevail), bassist Mike Jefferies, and drummer Jay Pipprell (
Ninkharsag, ex-Unsanctum), debuted their modernist deathcore sound on the Primal Chaos EP in 2015. They inked a deal with Prosthetic Records the following year and released their full-length debut,
Animus.
Venom Prison issued their sophomore effort, the uncompromising Samsara, in 2019, with a collection of re-recorded early material,
