Northern Norwegian songwriter and artist Vidar Vang began to write songs in his early teens in Bjerkvik, a small town above the Arctic Circle in Norway. He released his unofficial debut album, “Blue” in 1998, before moving to Oslo and signing his first major label deal, with EMI in 2001. His Norwegian Grammy-nominated official debut album, “Rodeo” (produced by “Seasick Steve” and Cato “Salsa” Thomassen), was released in 2002.

Vidar Vang went on to release six albums in English, before switching to his native language with “Vårres egen lille krig” in 2015. Upon this release, Norways’s biggest newspaper VG, labelled him “A songwriter in his own class”.

“Mann fra nord”, Vidar Vang’s tenth album, will be released November 1st 2019.

Since 2002 Vidar Vang has toured extensively throughout Norway, and continuously had songs listed on Norwegian radio. For more than 20 years Vidar Vang has been a critically acclaimed songwriter and artist. His live shows are intimate - often with just Vidar, his guitar and stories in-between his songs.

Upon the release of “Mann fra nord”, Vidar says: “This album is probably one of my most personal so far. I really wanted to write stories and songs about people my own age; where we all are at in our lives right now. Stories about adult, ordinary people facing reality; in so many different ways. Songs about trying to come to terms with normal, but often difficult parts of life, and ourselves”.
