Formed at the tail-end of 2013 in Brooklyn, Mike Quigley and Kieran McShane's
Washer quickly became a staple of the New York D.I.Y. scene with their brand of skewed, lo-fi punk. In early 2014, the duo recorded their debut EP in Quigley's parents' basement in Long Island. Produced and mixed by Nick Dooley and Dan Francia -- from fellow labelmates
Flagland -- the Bighead EP was released a few months later on East Coast Basements & Bedrooms Records. Continuing with live shows throughout 2014 and supporting the likes of Sleepies,
Ovlov, and
Mannequin Pussy, the duo released a split single with touring partners
Big Ups for Exploding in Sound. 2015 saw the pair once again partner up with
Flagland's Nick Dooley to record their debut album,
Here Comes Washer, at
Phish guitarist
Trey Anastasio's The Barn studios in Panton, Vermont. Preceded by a split single with
Flagland, the album was released in January 2016. ~ Rich Wilson
