Representing Phoenix’s East Side, Young Westin started his career as William P. After pursuing music while living in two of the country’s most sought-after cities (New York and Los Angeles), the rapper decided to return home and spend time reflecting on how to stay true to his individual and artistic persona. Combining his lifelong passions of rap and melodic singing, Young Westin was born. The artist made his debut with Vintage Porsche Interior EP, making his presence known not only in his home city and across the US, but internationally as well. The following year Westin released Dangerous Love EP with artist The Real Peru and created major buzz about his ability to harmonize his rap and singing with tracks like “3am Flex” and “Old Ways”. A year later, the artist released his second solo EP and first ever short film, Eastern Promises. With no time or desire to cease his creative tempo, Westin’s much-anticipated sequel with Peru, Dangerous Love 2, was released shortly after. Aided by tracks like “Candles + Coffins” (with dark, flowing vocals) and “Reap What U Sow” (the duo’s first and most upbeat collaboration), the album was acclaimed a “Top 3 Best Album of the Year” to come out of Phoenix by Power 98.3.
