Une voix sensuelle et enfantine qui en impose depuis plus de vingt ans. La Suédoise, qui a finalement pris ses marques dans le jazz vocal, surprend une fois de plus avec ce More of The Good. Une dizaine de compositions originales foisonnantes de nuances et sur lesquelles Ekdahl dose avec une grande justesse la place qu’elle accorde au chant. Petit bout de femme fatale, gagnante de trois Grammy Awards, elle est surtout une songwriter intelligente qui livre ici une poésie très personnelle. Rayonnante quand elle n’est pas un brin mélancolique, la Scandinave a cet amour du rétro. Accompagnée du trompettiste Ibrahim Maalouf sur I Know You Love Me, la connexion entre les deux artistes est évidente. Les notes lyriques s’envolent en compagnie de ce chant légèrement perché, atypique et qui pourtant ne tape jamais sur le système.
